in addition to the primary icon, I created two additional badges that showcase just the iconic bell that still stands where immigrants first touched American soil. They will be able to use this is places where space is limited and a badge or overlay will make more sense.

Angel Island Immigration Station Icon

I was hired by the foundation, aiisf.org,  that runs the museum for the immigration station on Angel Island to create a graphic they can use in their new gift shop. They wanted something that felt like it belonged with other national park and historical site icons, but without being too nostalgic since it was a place of internment and deserves solemnity for its role in American history.

I was so pleased to get to work on a project that felt so perfectly in my wheelhouse of both retro iconography and my love of history. I highly recommend visiting the site as it is full of very interesting history, and of course, if you visit the gift shop, maybe you can pick up a thing or two with this new icon in it!
